Ok as some may know I was having computer freezing issues mainly with steam. The computer would justs stay on but it freeze indefinetly until I did a hard reset. no bsd or anything. Yesterday night I did a fresh install of windows 7 installed steam and it worked! installed other programs/utilitys and everything was great. Today.. I went into itunes and converted a aac file into an mp3 file before it was done, the freezing happened again the same way as it does with steam. I then rebooted tryed to open steam and the computer froze again!!!!!!!!!!!      WTH! is going on?!?! Im not sure what these have related at all but know I no its not a steam problem.....

If the computer is stubborn then yelling doesn't help. I tend to take out the belt and spank mine. That usually does the trick and even gives me a performance boost.

If you read the original post iTunes does the EXACT same thing. AT first i was thinking it was steam being just a badly designed program but two completly unreleated programs causing the same error makes no sense.

During the initial release of Windows Vista, itunes had caused an error causing the ODD not to be recognized by the OS. Not blaming apple or anything, you might want to try uninstalling some programs then check if the issues persist.

It will be time consuming, but it will save you more time in the long run doing this now rather than later when you have more data on the computer. By the way, are you using a preinstalled Win7 OS/ Recovery image or a store bought copy - also it is 32bit or 64bit?

I would like to look into this possible software related issue and request a fix form our R&D if the issue is hardware related to our machine. Thanks
