I'm thinking of getting either an UL30A or VT. Apparently there are two different 8-cell batteries available (4400 and 5600mAh), with the 5600mAh versions being a bit more expensive. Is there also a physical difference (size/weight)? How much longer real-world runtime can be expected?

    TIA!

Size-wise, they are the exact same, both are flush with the system. The batteries have a negligible difference in weight, so size and weight-wise, there shouldn't be too much of a concern.

However, performance-wise, there will be at least a 20% increase from the numbers I've seen.

    Thanks!

Here in Sweden the UL30VT is so far only available with the smaller capacity battery, while the UL30A comes with 5600mAh for the same price. So basically it's down to graphics performance versus battery time. Decisions decisions...

For office work, internet and some TV over ADSL the UL30A has no problems and is more than fast enough. I like the long battery operating time a lot.
