    i love my new UL30A, but 1080p youtube videos play back with low fps, so they dont look smooth.

    i just read a thread here saying that the notebook will be able to play back 1080p files, but why cant it play the flash videos? do the 1080p flash videos require a bunch of processing power or a graphics card?

    Unless you have setup some kind of hardware acceleration its not going to use your gpu at all its entirely up to the cpu to render stuff.

    The newest version of flash supports hardware acceleration but it has to be compatible with your system.

    Is your screen even 1080p? If not just stick with 720p I managed to get 720p to play problem free even on my 1.6ghz single core atom netbook.

    I don't think the intel 4500HD graphics card accelerates flash - just regular 1080p.

    Although, come to think of it, it might if you have the right drivers and proper flash installation....
