I got a big gash on my laptop with black lines. I dont want to go through with the warranty claims cuz it takes too long.(I didnt even register my lappy). Is there anywhere they sell replacement screens for this laptop?

Do a google search - there are some aftermarket companies, or you can try eBay.

LCDs are one of the most expensive parts of a notebook, usually $300-450 retail in most cases.

Usually, if you take it apart and get the numbers off the panel itself, you can look it up and save money as well. Good luck with whatever you decide to do!

Are you sure that this is the LCD which is defective?
It could very well be the graphic card or some other issue.
If you have warranty on it. I would guess the best thing would be to send it back.
Repairing it yourself could turn out to be expensive.

It's not always the case that they will take a very long time to repair. It will depend on the availability of parts.
In my experience the biggest repair on my ASUS notebook was finished within 10 days and this was the case where the complete mainboard was changed.

Sometimes asus will take care of it even if you didn't register in time. If you're nice.
