I've been pondering whether to get a JT or JC and it seems to me that it just isn't worth it to get the JT becuase the U35jc will have impressive battery life (alot of other reasons too but just want to focus on the battery life).

I came to the conclusion that it would be even more so, if the U35JC can be undervolted or underclocked. Theoretically it should give you extra battery life but how much I don't know.

    Thoughts?

I'm not computer expert, so I can't tell you about undervolting/underclocking. What I do know is that with Asus' software (Power 4 Gear and that Super Hybrid Engine thing), you have a lot of freedom in tweaking power settings. For example, for each power profile, you can manually cap the CPU usage at a certain percentage. Would this produce a comparable result?

I've never actually seen the power 4 gear software but if it controls bios volt, fsb options , then sure I can see that happening. Otherwise as long as you're able to change it in the bios, should be enough. I'm hoping that the U35jc will have the options available in the bios at least. I wonder if any asus owners can comment about the flexibility of these settings in a u30, ul30vt?
