I am considering getting either the UL30Vt or the UL80Vt, and have a slight concern about the CPU/processor. I'm not sure whether to go with one of those two models (since they have the same CPU and graphics) or the more powerful but heavier Dell Studio XPS 13 laptop.

I guess I'm looking for a laptop that can multitask reasonably. 90% of the time I just run Chrome/Firefox (with many tabs open in each) with OneNote and/or Word at the same time (usually for classwork or taking notes in class). The other 10% of the time I may use InDesign//Lightroom/Photoshop, watch movies on Hulu, or play some games such as The Sims 2 or Simcity 4.

I really like the battery life and portability of the ASUS UL laptops, but if necessary, will go with the Dell if the ASUS's CPU is too weak for me.

What do you all think? Much appreciated!
    David

Your best bet is to ask the question in the UL80Vt/UL50Vt owners lounge. They'll be able to help you out better.

As a dell owner, I would not recommend a dell to anyone. Besides, the UL30Vt/UL80Vt seems like it would do what you want. But find out for sure by asking someone who knows.
