Just got my UL30A which I'm totally loving but now, I'm getting the itch to try something just a little bit bigger. I've shortlisted the UL50AG-A2 ($760), UL50VT-A1 ($830) and U50VG-AM1 ($1000). Anyone want to sway me one way or the other?

Right now, the U50VG-AM2 is the strongest contender, assuming the specs that can be found on Amazon are correct. With the P8700 2.53GHz processor, I won't have to worry that it's not fast enough. The backlit keyboard is also a nice touch. Gigabit ethernet is also a bonus, albeit not something I'd be using all that often. The dedicated video card, I don't really need since I don't game. One thing I'm curious about is battery life. The UL30A has pretty impressive battery life and seeing that both the UL50AG and UL50VT have similar specifications, I assume the battery life will be around the same. As much research as I've done, though, I can't find expected battery life for the U50VG.

I'm not in any hurry to buy. I'm still debating the wisdom of spending $700~1000 on a new toy. If I do buy, though, I'd probably get ASUS as I like the multi-touch implementation on their trackpad the most.

    Thoughts, anyone?

Thanks. Simple math: 27% increase in battery life.
