Have a UL50V from BestBuy that when I run the check disc utility has lots of bad clusters. It has a Seagate Momentus 500gb 5400 hdd from the factory. Tried replacing it with a Seagate Momentus 500gb 7200 hdd and when I tried installing Win7 64 bit the installer sees the hdd but says the bios will not let the drive be a bootable drive. Says something about checking the BIOS hdd controller. I did not see that in the BIOS. Is there something I need to do in the BIOS? Is the problem the speed of the drive? Do not want to waste money on a 5400 rpm drive if that will not fix it. Thanks in advance.
