I have a UL80JT with windows 7 64 bit. I went to update the graphics driver for the Nvidia 310M from Nvidia's site. I downloaded update 285.62 and installed it (i uninstalled the previous and used driversweeper ofcourse). Upon restart it would freeze on the startup after I put in my password, I tried restarting several times but it always froze. I booted in safe mode and uninstalled the driver, then it started up fine. Is there a specific driver I need because of dual vidia set up with the integrated intel HD?

Also, as a side note, is there a way to disable the Intel HD graphics and permanently have 310M as my main video card? I know there is a reason to have it, to save battery life, but I have actually already killed this battery, it no longer keeps a charge for more than 30 minutes, so I don't see a point. Thank you for your time!

I don't think you can permanently disable the on-board intel video as they dynamical switch on the fly.

As for the drivers if you use the asus website drivers does the same problem occur?

I haven't tried to reinstall the stock one yet, I have been busy since posting this but the reason I tried to upgrade the video card for so I could have a little added bonus while playing lower end steam games.

Thats a real drag, cause sometimes I feel like it isn't switching to the 310M when it should be. There are a few steam games that I should be able to play just fine and it won't run for .
