Amazon.com: ASUS UL80JT-A2 Thin and Light 14-Inch Laptop (Black): Computer & Accessories

Been looking at this laptop for some time now. The ONLY thing that is preventing me from getting it is the fact that people are having issues with the Wi-Fi. I've read almost every post on NBR, and can't find a for-sure way to get it to work without having to send it into Asus to get the wireless card replaced.

I've been looking at this Wireless adapter just so I don't have to deal with the issue, but still have the laptop I want.

I REALLY want an Asus laptop because I love their warranty support, and I'm familiar with their products.

Would anyone be against this laptop? I REALLY don't want to spend anymore than $700 total for everything I need (bag, small mouse, laptop itself) and i like that it has medium graphics capabilities. I could still play WoW If I really wanted, and most of my Steam games. So yes, i'll be gaming somewhat, but I'm going to be using it for school. Also, I was looking at the UL30, but I NEED an internal DVD burner.

Last thing, which is about that external wireless adapter:

Is just having wireless N bad? Do I need something that has b/g/n? Or will this adapter work for me just fine?

Thanks guys for your help. :) - Jessekin

If you were looking for a really good mobility machine thte UL80JT would be great for you. You might have some issues running those games you want to though. The i3 330UM cpu on that notebook is really geared towards mobility and not anything really intensive. It runs at 1.2ghz with no speed step technology. That speed is great for your school needs but that about as far as you want to push it. I'd suggest getting something with a faster CPU.

If you're worried about the wireless card on there you can get the adapter you linked or even install a new internal one in there.

Wireless N is fully compatible with B/G as well so you'll have no issue there
