    Hi All,

I'm new to laptops, new to Asus and today just got a new UL80VT.

I'm just setting up the computer and I notice the keyboard types " when I press @ (ie shift 2), @ when I type ", and the British pound sign when I type # (ie shift 3).

I've set up the language to be Australian English with a UK keyboard (but then changed this to a US keyboard in case this was the cause of the issue) but still it persists in typing these things.

So how can I get the the keys to type what they say on them? I'm hoping I just have to make a setting change somewhere and that I haven't got a faulty keyboard. I mean where the hell is this british pound sign coming from?

    thanks for any help

OK, the issue has been solved after a reboot. It did have something to do with the UK keyboard setting. I have now changed this to US and all is OK. Keys type what I tell them to.
