Anybody know when the UL80VT with SU9400 will be out?
    Is UL80VT now with Win7?

I haven't seen a SKU, leaked or otherwise, that includes the SU9400. However, it's a moot point as the SU7300 with Turbo33 alone would make the SU7300 @ 1.73 GHz smoke the SU9400. Plus I've seen people do the standard OC in the BIOS to get the SU7300 up to 2.13 GHz.

I wouldn't make the SU7300 vs. SU9400 an issue if you were interested in purchasing.

    Cheers,
    Kermee

Does anyone know for sure if you can change the multiplier in the bios? The su7300 has a 6.5x multiplier whereas the su9400 is a 7x multiplier. If it can be changed in the bios to 7x, you pretty much have a su9400, correct?

I would be interested to know how fast a [email protected] is, and what the battery life is like at that clock rate.

That it's possible is amazing. I probably would never push it that hard, but it's fun to know what the machine is capable of!

But wouldnt SU9400 get so much faster with the turbo as well?
I'm just afraid SU7300 is not enough even with the turbo.

I was curious about this also. Wonder what the 9400 would hit with turbo.

It is only 100 MHz faster, 1.4 compared to 1.3 with Turbo33 it will only be 133 MHz faster. So nothing earth shattering here. My understanding is between the bios OC and Tubo33 some people are getting 2.13 Ghz out of the Su7300's and that should be more than enough...........

Edit; Now if there would be a Su9600, 1.6 Ghz and Turbo33.........

You can purchase the model offered in Taiwan and possibly some other regions.

I just checked my UL8VT and there are no mini PCIE/PCI ports visible under the keyboard or from the access compartments below. Assuming Asus even bothered using a removable module for BT, it'll take a large amount of disassembly to add it to the US model.

I remember an article stating that there was a bluetooth module port accessible from the bottom of the laptop (HDD/RAM bay?) of the UL30a. I'm not sure if this is accurate, but it wouldn't hurt to check.

Only two access ports on my UL80VT and one leads to the HDD, the other to the SODIMMs. I haven't checked under the HDD, so there's still a chance the module is there.

That's a bug in Cpu-Z which misreads the 4x multiplier as 8x. That bug has been fixed in version 1.53 and up so it correctly reads the multiplier as 4x. The fastest the SU7300 can go in Turbo33 mode is 266MHz x 6.5 = 1733MHz.
