I've had my UX32VD for a few days, I can't find any info about the two video cards and how/when the machine decides to switch between the two. I was under the impression I could disable to Nvidia if needed to improve battery performance. I'm also curious to compare performance of the two devices.

Anyone have any additional info? Thanks.

    hey,

there is a setting in the nvidia drivers to show a small tray icon that lights up whenever the nvidia is in use. You can access the nvidia driver by right-clicking on your desktop, or the tray icon for nvidia.

If it is not used, it is already disabled pretty much completely, so your battery savings are already there. So there is no need to do anything further.

What you can also do is you can change your battery performance which will also save you battery. On your keyboard you press Fn and the spacebar. That changes the performance of your laptop.

Its auto detected with the software. Normally your running on the HD 4000, but when you launch a game it will use the 620m.
