    Hi,

    I just bought a A6T and I'm already having a problem:
Whenever I try to plug in my USB 2.0 hard drive it tells me I plugged it into a non high speed USB port.
I've already searched this forum and the only solution I found to this problem is to check the BIOS for an USB 2.0 setting. Problem is, there is no such a setting. I even flashed my BIOS with the current version just to see if there is an option now, but there isn't.
There don't seem to be any patches either. But Win XP SP2, which I'm using, should be advanced enough to get to run USB 2.0 ...

Well, what can I do? Reveal some hidden settings in my BIOS? Find some patch I don't know of? Maybe get other drivers for the USB hub?

I'm very thankful for any advice.

    Kelon

regardless of what it says, does it transfer data at near USB 2.0 speed? if so, who cares?

since youve recently bought the lappy with XP SP2 pre-installed, all the software and drivers are already there for it to work, trust me i went through this before as well, so its not a driver or patch issue. The thing about the BIOS though, I'm afraid I can't help you...

Is the cable you are using USB 2.0 compliant?

pizza_joe: No, it's not even close to USB 2.0 speed :/
Oh yeah, this version of Windows wasn't pre-installed. I formatted the HD and installed Win XP Pro. Of course I didn't test if it worked before ...

vestige: Yes, it's working fine on other computers.
