Hello all
I just bought an Asus Zenbook UX32A-R3007V. The user guide refers to a "USB LAN adapter" which didn't come with the laptop, and the supplier isn't interested in helping me.
Can anyone tell me exactly what the part number for this is, and where is a good place to buy it? Does it have to be Asus brand or can I buy a cheap imitation too?
thanks in advance for any help
Jo

You can do a search for any USB LAN adapter, and no it does not need to be Asus.
Just to clarify - are you looking for a WiFi dongle for wireless internet? Or an ethernet to USB port adapter? -
Thanks for replying. Yes, it's an ethernet to USB port adapter.

Ah, those are handy to have - even if your Ethernet port works fine (I use one on systems occasionally when there is no LAN driver provided by Windows on a fresh install, to get online to acquire them).
Here you go: USB LAN adapters
I think the only way to get the full benefit of a 1Gbps model is if it uses USB 3.0, as USB 2.0 is only rated for up to 480 Mbps. -
Great. Thanks a lot! The main thing was that I was worried that it was an Asus-specific part.
It's a bit annoying that the Zenbook has no ethernet port itself, that it requires this accessory. And they really should have supplied it when I bought it... -

The luxury of the form factor does negate some amenities you see on other laptops, unfortunately. The ultrabooks tend to rely on WiFi exclusively for internet. Hopefully one of those adapters works out well for you.
