    USB Won't work - s96s

    Hello, i need help with a problem im having with my s96s. After i reinstalled Windows XP the usb ports wouldnt work, i reinstalled the drivers from the intel site but it still doesnt work. In device manager under USB controllers it shows :
    Intel(R) ICH8 Family USB Universal Host Controller - 2830
    Intel(R) ICH8 Family USB Universal Host Controller - 2831
    Intel(R) ICH8 Family USB Universal Host Controller - 2832
    Intel(R) ICH8 Family USB Universal Host Controller - 2834

    Intel(R) ICH8 Family USB2 Universal Host Controller - 2836
    Intel(R) ICH8 Family USB2 Universal Host Controller - 283A

    Right click, update drivers, let xp find them itself.

    Ive already tried that it says it cant find any drivers blah blah blah

    Which driver set did you download?

    Did you try the set from the ASUS/Intel driver disk that came with your laptop? Or did they only provide Vista drivers?

    download no:16 from the link you provided "Intel chipset software". I believe that has the USB drivers. If that doesn't work then, there might be something disconnected inside your lappy
