    Greetings.

I sent my A6Vc to repair the ODD some time ago. ASUS also replaced the whole casing of the laptop.

Some time later I noticed this on dmesg:
    Code:
    hub 1-0:1.0: over-current change on port 2
    hub 5-0:1.0: over-current change on port 2
I also noticed that this happens when I touch the laptop near the hinges, when I type with a little more strength or when I move the LCD.

My opinion is that when they changed the casing, they left some cable connecting the USB ports to the MB near the hinges in some strange position, causing this.

I really haven't worried about this until yesterday. dmesg started showing that over-current change message far more often and my system started to freeze for no apparent reason. Then, after forcing my system to power-off, it booted as if it was not a Centrino-based laptop. In another words, my system detected this:

So, I had no wireless card, an incorrect ethernet controler, no cardreader and no firewire.

Today, this happened another time. I think that something is getting burned inside my laptop because of this kind of short-circuit on the USB ports...

Did anyone else had this problem? How did you solved it?
I'm thinking that I need my laptop near the hinge to get access to the USB cables and see what I can do. Did anyone else tried this already?

Thanks in advance for any help.
