    UX21 vs XPS13

    My employer will be providing me with a new computer soon. I wanted a 11" MBA, but IT nixed it as it would not run a program we use called Maximizer. The UX21 has the form factor I want as well as light weight, but I prefer the rounded edges, business look, larger display, backlit keyboard of the Dell XPS13. Also from reading the UX13 thead on this site there seems to be many who have had to RMA their computers due to sleep/hybernation issues. From these discussions it seems that any new UX13 will need to be sent to ASUS for repair before it works properly. Are the UX21 models also that problematic? I realize that these forums are mostly populated by people that have problems and that those with trouble free computers do not post, but should I consider the Asus UX21 as a computer that will last me 4 years? My only Asus experience was a 900HA that at 1.1 years had it's power button fall into the computer case. Hard to boot up that way...

    Bump...Additional info, I told IT last week that I wanted the ux21 instead of the Dell xps13(I work in a Dell shop), but after seeing so many people with problems with ux31 models, I was hoping for some encouraging words about ASUS and particularly the ux21. Any help is appreciated...Jaybird4

    Stay away from Dell's.

    They are rampant with DPC latency spikes that cause major audio problems. I had a Dell XPS 15, I had to BBB them to get it returned

    WEll based on my experience with the ASUS UX31 I would stay as far away as possible

    Conclusion: get neither computer.

    Definitely do not buy the Dell. You will regret it. Look up thread about Dell DPC spikes and Dell audio stutters
