    Hi folks!

I'm helpless i dont know what to do. Here's the story:

I bought an UX31-E when it came out. Shortly after buying it, i saw that there's a power management problem. Especially after updating to Windows 8, the laptop always shut off (cold) when connecting to the grid under load (such as youtube movie watching) or at low battery power (ex under 25%). So i decided a year ago that i want to fix that problem because i was unable to connect it to the grid when gaming.

Here's what happened with the RMA:
    - They exchanged the battery and sent it back to me. The problem was still there but all my files were gone, so i had to reinstall windows 8 professional.
    - When i sent it to Swiss IT Repair the second time (Swiss Asus Contractor), they exchanged the whole motherboard including the SSD. It took them two months to organize the parts. After receiving it back last February or so the problem was still there despite saying on the log that they tested it on the problem.
    - I was abroad for a few months so this summer i sent it there again. This time, they exchanged the Mainboard and the MONITOR. I cannot imagine that it makes sense. I received it back today and the problem IS STILL THERE.

How can hey mess up so bad? Maybe its an electrical engineering problem of the product? I really lose my patience and not want to send it there again, after coulnt use the product for several months in total.

I tired to update my BIOS of the new mainboard like i did last time when they exchanged it. But theres an error saying "this programm can only be installed on a ASUS laptop"
    lol

    Thanks for your suggestions!

(In fact i'm having an UX31 and an UX21, BOTH having the same problem)

Yes i tried that as well, I even bought one from another manufacturer to try it out... I also tried with two Original ones.. I simply cannot imagine it to be something else than an electric engineering malfunction (Some kind of wrong product planning). I must add to this that i gt two of the very early models from november 2011... I'll send it there gain and let you guys know about what happened.

    Cheers

I had a similar problem with my Vivobook S400CA. RMA just re-installed Windows 8, and it is clearly a hardware/electrical problem, most likely a bad soldering joint in the motherboard display connector. Sigh.
