Does anyone have an idea how to do this?

It is so annoying seeing the screen brightness change intensity when you switch from a dark to a light tab on a browser (for example).

If you are using catalyst there is a option for VariBright next to Powerplay.

Hey dchinu, I have no idea what Catalyst is, so I assume I'm not using it...

    Care to elaborate, please?

Catalyst is the UI for AMD gpu drives which you do not have so it doesn't apply to you. You could check the power4gear settings though.

I tried the P4G settings (advanced ones included), but could still find nothing that sorted it.

Surely it's annoyed someone else here and they've figured out a way to prevent it...

I dont think i understand this correctly, but if you go to power options and then power plan, you can pick battery saving mode and change the brightness level on battery and when plugged in. Is this the problem?

Khan, the problem is that the laptop senses the contrast of the screen you're looking at and adjusts the brightness automatically, hence if you're switching between light and dark tabs on a browser frequently, it gets annoying.

Josea, I don't think that's the relevant option. I'm pretty sure it's an Asus thing and not Windows related (I may be wrong though).

Gavie14, I had the same problem and found the solution!

    - Right click on the desktop.
    - Click "Graphics properties..."
    - The Intel Graphics and Media Control Panel will appear
    - Choose "Advanced Mode"
    - Click on the "Power" section of the panel
    - On the top drop down menu called "Power Source," choose "On battery"
    - Under "Power Plans" choose "Maximum Performance"
    - Under the "Power Conservation Features" uncheck "Display Power Saving Technology"

Click "Apply" and you should be set!

    Good luck!
