Hi all,
Does anyone have first hand knowledge of whether the Realtek 5139 SD card reader in the UX31A (and other models) supports SDXC cards rated for UHS (ultra high speed) operation? If you have an UHS speed card in your SD card reader, do you know what kind of speeds you get during reading and writing operations?
Thanks!

I can't seem to find any spec sheets or information on the reader itself. Found a ReadMe, and all it said was:
"Realtek is major supplier on card reader solution.
We provide many kind of solution for different application.
If you don't know how to choose the right driver for your PC, please run the 'ReaderChecker.exe' to check.
Thank you."

I am more interested in them releasing the 8GB RAM version.

I believe the Realtek SD card reader used in the UX31A series is the 5139 model. A Google search reveals this press release:
AMI | American Megatrends Inc. : Press Releases
The important bit: "American Megatrends Inc. (AMI)...and Realtek Semiconductor Corporation...announce their collaboration in the delivery of a new, industry-first SD 3.0-compliant Card Reader Boot Solution." This references the 5139 model. Searching through the SD card standards body documentation reveals that the SDXC UHS cards require card readers which support the SD 3.0.1 standard. So I'm not entirely sure if the UX31A card reader will support UHS speeds. I suspect it does but would like someone to verify before I spend big bucks on a UHS card. I might just suck it up and be the guinea pig here. Amazon has such a good return policy after all...

Bump for someone to try this that has a UX31/21and a UHS-I card. I don't really want to waste my money if it doesn't support it.
UX31A SD card reader support for UHS SDXC cards?
