I have installed Windows 8.1 Pro, all the drivers and utilities. Maximum brightness is to bright for me, so i set it to 70%. But when i reboot my system i got 100% brightness, however windows tells me, that i am at 70%. Autobrightness is off.

    Update!
Found a solution! It was necessary to turn off Sensor monitoring service

I have msdn release. Works really great on my UX31A! I have only 1-1.1 Gb of used ram on system startup. With Win7 i had 1.5-1.55 Gb. It ain't enough, when you wan't to run VMWare + browser + VS

Where did you find windows 8.1 drivers? They have nothing listed on the asus site for me...

The drivers are the same, they will just be listed as for 8.1, although previous "8" drivers will still work.

Bought myself UX21A and it has this issue - maximum screen brightness after reboot. I've disabled sensors monitoring service, however this doesn't helped. Any other idea?

Found a solution. It was necessary to install latest drivers from Asus support site. Than i've turned off auto brightness in intel graphics control panel and rebooted my laptop - everything works well. So i've removed this drivers, rebooted and installed latest beta drivers for Win 8.1. Everything works well =)
