My my UX31A-DB51 refuses to automatically connect to wifi once I wake it from sleep, and it is incredibly annoying. I have to initiate the connection manually. Here is what I have done with no results:

    1. Set wireless adapter to "maximum performance" under power management
    2. Set the network properties to automatically connect
    3. Disallowed the computer to shut off wifi to save power in the device manager
    4. Deleted and reinstalled the latest driver off of Intel's site and repeated steps 1-3

Two other household Win7 notebooks resume from sleep and connect with no issue.

    Any ideas?

Hello my name is Jeffrey and I work for ASUS Customer Loyalty Team

Just want to make sure you have the correct model that is having this issue. I know we had an issue with the UX31E and put our updated driver to resolve that issue.

Here is a link below where you can update the driver for the wireless and let me know which version you have.

Jeffrey - thank you for offering to help. As it turns out, I was able to resolve the problem after I saw a post on a Win7 forum from somebody who had the same problem on a different machine. It stated that "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" should actually be checked under Power Management for the adapter in the device manager. After doing this, it is working as it should.
