Does anyone know why the color on the UX31A with the IPS 1080p screen look so dull? I have played with the settings and calibrated and set to defualts ect.. nothing is really helping. Is it just the way the IPS 1080p looks? I almost want to sell it and keep the UX31E with the 900p screen. I really only wanted the UX31A for the backlit keyboard.

im using windows 8 and the Win64_15313 drivers from intel. NO matter what driver I use all results are the same. Maybe this was a display model and the screen is burnt out?

Could it be a bad screen? I think I have the 1080 IPS and I don't see yellow.

I've heard of others not liking the calibration on some UX models too. If memory serves me correctly (which is hit or miss), updating the firmware for it and/or reinstalling the driver within Device Manager (the driver for the monitor) has helped.

Not sure if you're talking about yellowish tint or not but if so it's an issue with the graphics driver. Uninstall Intel HD 4000 graphics driver and let windows install one from Microsoft. Might not work the first time, took me a few tries but I got rid of the yellow tint on my UX31A touch version.

Note: Calibration didn't work for me. I had a case where everything had a tint of a yellow color, especially visible on white backgrounds.

Running latest bios. Will post driver version later.

I should have clarified; not Windows color profile calibration, but the screen's manufacturer calibration from the factory is what I meant. The default driver Windows reinstalled might be outdated, but I'm glad you have it set to your liking now at least. :)

It's definitely outdated, 9.17.10.2932, but I'd rather have proper colors. Whenever I have time I'll try updating to newer drivers and report back the results.
