Not sure if this is the right place to put this.

This is the second problem I've had with this laptop. My UX31A arrived with a dead headphone jack the first time and it took a 3 week RMA To get that fixed.

Now the laptop fan has stopped working (will not spin up during Prime95 or gaming). In its place, I hear a click-click-click like a dead hard-drive. Of course the UX31 uses an SSD so this is not the sound of a dying mechanical drive. The sound originates from somewhere around the ESC key.

In the interest of not doing another 3 week RMA, I'm trying to see if anyone else has had this issue and if they fixed it without an RMA.

    Thanks the the help.

I received a Zenbook ux32vd a couple of weeks ago and had fan noise issues and noticed it seemed to be running warmer that I would have expected. Since these ultrabooks are so hard to come by right now I was reluctant to send it back but I did and I am still waiting on my replacement.
I tried all the suggestions about updating the BIOS and other supposed fixes but they didn't work :(
