Hello, i need to shoose an ultrabook for my work ( already have N56JR for home) , and i don't have much money, so i'm looking at this 2 models, can you help me to choose which one is better ?

from what i found this is the configuratio of the 2 i'm looking for, and the difference i have noticed:

    UX31E:

    i5 2557m
    4g of ram
    13.3" 1600x900
    128g SSD
    1,3kg
    6 cell battery
    1 fan

    UX32A

    i5 3317u not big difference (maybe the HD4000 ? )

4G extensible on the 32A but 4g is enought i think for my use

1366x768 Better display on the 31E, is it really huge improvement ?

500go+24ssd more speed on the 31E but can change the HDD in the 32A not on the 31E

1,45kg better portability for the 31E (lighter)

4cell better battery on the 31E

2 fans tests shows 31E is quieter and this is very important for me

dispite of these difference, is there any reason to shoose one and not the other, i'm tempted to take the UX31E but maybe i'm wrong, so i'm waiting your comment to help me do the right choice.
    thank you in advance

The UX31E uses the Second Gen Core i CPU's, you can tell because of the 2 in "2557M"
The UX32A uses a newer Third gen, see the 3 in "3317, so this is the newer of the two.

But also be aware we are currently on the 4th gen now but there isnt a huge selection on "ultrabook" style with them yet, but there are some.

If you're not worried about the difference in CPU I would go with the UX31E. As long as 128GB SSD is enough room for you I would rather have a full SSD instead of a hybrid set up. I also like the higher screen resolution.
For reliability I would say the same, since they're both Zenbooks, I cant think of any common issues with either. I have a UX51 which is the 15.6" version and its been great for me.

thank you for your response, since i hate toush screen laptop, the ux31LA is not for me.

i'm not concerned about processor in this case, because there is no big difference between i5 2557m and 3317u, at least i don't see it.

    Just don't touch the screen......
Touch screens are were everything will be in the next 4 years except it won' be on the physical screen it will be either with your eye movement or virtual like in the Minority Report movie.

touch screen = glossy screen = very bad with sun and light :(
i'm not taking UX301/302/303 nor macbook because of this, i always find and use laptops with matte/anti-glare screen.
and i hope asus will keep a version without touch screen, or bring anti-glare/matte screen.

The third gen has a more powerful IGP, if that's important to you then that's a big plus.

if it will improve vidéo and streaming it could interest me, i will never play on it nor edit vidéo or something like that,

just internet, excel, word, and some movies/series.

The display will be nice for having lots of working space, 2d desktop stuff you wont notice the difference between the two. The 3rd gen will give you a boost to battery life.

when you talk about working place, you mean with higher resolution ?

the battery life is close between the 2 machine (netbookcheck review), probabely because 31E has full SSD, and 32A has HDD and will drain more power, so at the end it is same.

i will try to found them in a shop ( used ), so i can see the difference in real
    thank you

Yes, with a higher resolution you get more pixels so more desktop space.

The higher res screen also drains more power too, it's true.

If you could see them in person that is the ideal but can be very hard to do.

i have managed to find both in 2 different shop, have tested the 2 and i'm going for the ux31e since it hase a much better display, it runs quiter and cooler + it has a better finish and build quality ( or at leas it feel better ).
i have found many person complaning about the Issd stopped working then the ux32a went very very slow even with SSD in place of the HDD.

i hope i'm doing the good choice :) thank you
