    Hi everyone, My first post here.

    I have been searching around for information on upgrading my keyboard and I found this thread. Unfortunately its gone dead and there isn't much information though. http://forum.notebookreview.com/har...ding-asus-ux31e-keyboard-backlight-ux31a.html

    Can anyone tell me for certain if the UX31a keyboard will work on my older UX31e? I don't care about the backlit buttons or anything, I just want a better feeling keyboard. My stock one has always been really poor and I get strain in my fingers from using it.

    old post but i replaced my keyboard and it's way better than the old one. just the backlight isn't working. it has the same pins as the old keyboard and i think it's a controller problem.
    you should take some time to change the keyboard and be ready to remove a lot of 0.9mm screws ;)

    if anyone has any idea how to make the backlight work please tell me! maybe by replacing the webcam to the 31a one with the ambient light sensor?
