A new BIOS came out (213) but the fan issue still remains. Goes on and very high for no apparent reason (on webpages). Is there any update on this issue, or a solution?

Going to give the new bios a shot on mine that has the fan issue. Mine does not go on high though, just goes on low then off low then off, etc...

Edit* False alarm... I read quickly and have a ux31a where the current bios is only 212... :(

I don't think a BIOS update would have fixed it in any case. You can check for firmware or chipset updates. You can also try adjusting the fan speed through SpeedFan.

But if it's faulty hardware, you'll need to either replace the fan, or contact Asus for RMA if it's related to the controller on the board.
