Girlfriend wanted an Ultrabook style laptop after using my Series 9 for a few days, so I went onto Amazon the other day and bought a Zenbook UX32A-DB31. However, looking at the specs... something doesn't add up.

    Amazon.com: ASUS Zenbook UX32A-DB31 13.3-Inch Ultrabook: Computers & Accessories

The specs list this as having a 3rd generation i3 chip, but there are two chips listed in the ad -- an i3-2367 and an i3-3217U. The large description states that it's a "3rd generation i3-2367", which makes no sense, since that's a 2nd generation chip. The specs also list the hard drive as a 320 gig 5400 RPM, then at the bottom the hard drive speed is listed at 7200 RPM. And the ad lists it as Intel HD 3000 video, which again would be 2nd generation.

It doesn't look like Amazon is alone in this -- Newegg lists the same thing.

Has anyone got this model and if so, what does the DB31 come with? If it's a 2nd generation chip, I just want to send it back and get the DB51. If I refuse shipment when it arrives, they refund immediately; if I take it and open it to examine it first, refund takes 2-3 weeks.

Newegg's description also lists "3rd gen IntelĀ® CoreTM i3-2367 processor with Intel Turbo Boost 2.0 Technology". 2367 isn't 3rd gen. Hmm.

Excalibur and Cnet both list as 2nd gen. I'm assuming I'm going to receive an i3-2367 with a 5400 RPM drive and HD 3000 graphics as opposed to an i3-3217U with a 7200 RPM drive and HD 4000 graphics. She'll probably be just as happy either way, but am I going to see a big difference between the DB31 and the DB51 (i5-3317U 3rd Gen)? The price is the same if you factor in the free $200 Amazon gift card for buying the DB51 through the current promo. Her priority is battery life and weight, so if the i3 will "underperform" the i5 in terms of battery consumption, it's probably worth keeping anyway.
