I just performed a clean Win 8 install on my UX32VD, but can't get the Intel Rapid Start to properly work. I followed the instructions to the tee on getting my ExpressCache working and can confirm it is functioning.

I also followed the instructions to partition the iSSD to support Rapid start and have a 10240 meg Hibernation partition using diskpart.

Rapid Start just isn't performing the way I would expect. In fact it isn't working at all. I have the latest version from the Intel Web Site

Also when loading the Rapid Start from the Icon I get what is called in the dialog box is an "unknown settings error"

    2 Questions

    - Does the IRST disk with the hibernation partition also have to be GPT if the internal HDD is GPT? I did a UEFI install.

    - Do I need the Intel Smart storage stuff as well? This machine doesn't support Rapid Response, so I didn't install it.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.
