My ELAN PS/2 touchpad on my UX32VD works just fine most of the time. When I go into the device properties, it says that the driver installed is provided by ELAN, date 10-05-2012 and version 10.5.10.0.

I have also installed the latest Asus Smart Gesture V1.0.27 (03-08-2012).

Yet, sometimes the one finger "press to left click" gesture doesn't work. Most of the times it does, but sometimes it just does nothing when I press the smartpad once. Instead I have to use the actual physical left button of the touchpad. Or, sometimes I need to press the touchpad like 3 times before it does click.

This appears to happen in periods. In other words, most of the time it works perfectly without any interruptions. Then suddenly the "press to left click" will no longer work and I have to use the physical button. Some time later it will work again. A restart also always fixes the problem, but only temporarily.

Note that all other gestures, such as two finger menu tap or scrolling etc. work perfectly all the time.

Does anyone else have this issue? Any way to resolve it?

I use the old touchpad driver on my ux32vd "Touchpad_Elantech_Win7_64_Z10590.zip" cuz the new one is way to fast while using the two-finger-scroll. And havent had any big problems with it.
