Hi all. I have put this question in the big Zenbook thread as well, but I'm not sure if it is the right place to be asking questions...
Anyway, I have encountered a pretty major problem with my UX32VD that I can't solve. To set the scene, I was installing/updating a number of drivers on my laptop, and I was updating an Intel video driver. However, at some point, my laptop got confused and froze. I was forced to reboot the machine, but after booting, the screen stayed black. I assumed it was a video problem and so I went to try and reinstall windows 7 using a bootable USB (I had only just installed Windows so I wasn't really too bothered with starting over, plus, this seemed like an easy way out).
However, the bootable USB keeps getting stuck after I select "Install". The installer itself seems to load fine, and I can select language, etc., but after this point, it just stops (all I get is the nice blue background with no new windows or progress screens).
I thought maybe the installer was the problem, so I booted it on a different laptop and went through the steps, but it was fine this time and I could progress through the installation process without any issues.
It doesn't seem to be the same problem others have been getting when updating video drivers, as my screen seems to be working fine otherwise (I can access and see BIOS and the screen works fine when booting from USB).
So, my video drivers seem not to be working on my laptop, and also it seems to not like the idea of reinstalling Windows. Does anyone have any ideas or experienced anything similar? Is there anything I can do to get it working? I don't mind reformatting hard drives or deleting all my data as it is a fresh install anyway, but I'm not sure how to go about doing this, or if it will help anyway?
Any advice would be really appreciated.
