I admire the IPS screen and the ports on the ASUS Zenbook UX32VD, but I don't have any need for discrete graphics. The Intel hd4000 will be plenty for me, and I would rather avoid the heat and battery drain of a more powerful graphics system.
Does the UX32VD come in an HD4000-only version, with 8 gigs of memory or upgradable to 8 gigs; and if so what is its model number?

It doesn't. Besides, Nvidia Optimus automatically switches the dedicated GPU off when it is not needed. None of the Zenbook Primes have an 8 GB ram option and the only one easily upgradable is the UX32 series.

The UX31A is the one without dedicated graphics, but it has soldered RAM and a gumstick form factor SSD, no HDD.

There's a UX32A...
