I have an Asus s6. I have been trying to connect wirelessly to the internet while on battery power. When I open up IE, my home page (yahoo) opens up fine. When I type a search, search results will display but when I click on it then nothing happens. Also when I type directly into the address bar (ex. www.sears.com) nothing happens, it just stays on my home page.

The weird thing is when I plug the laptop into the A/C outlet everything works perfectly.

I have been told that it was my power managment configuration but still cant figure it out.

Have anyone else experienced this problem

    Please help. Thank you.

Have you actually tried changing the power managment settings? What have you done. Also, have you done a restart, have you tried repairing your network connection? Give more details and I can probably help suggest some other thigns for you to try.

I have tried messing with power4gear and nothing. I also tried the network connection repair, disable, enable and a restart. I also tried switching from Intel Proset/wireless to Windows Zero configuration.

The weird part is that my home page opens and search result show and that is as far as it gets.

The home page doesn't weird me out at all, it is probably cached. The search page might be cached, but only if you have run that search before. Have you tried uninstalling the Intel Proset Program (not the drivers, you still need those). Also, did it ever work on battery, or never at all.

I would almost try uninstalling ProSet, sometimes it gives me trouble. The good news is that your wireless isn't broken, so it sounds like a software issue to me.

You can download it from the Asus website. Click on the download link at the top of the page, then follow the link to the notebooks, find your model, then go to the wireless drivers and get the latest version. That should work. They will also be on the driver CD that came with your laptop.

I just uninstalled and installed with no difference. Could it be the power4gear feature. Can I delete it??

The easier solution to test power4gear is to go to the power propoerties (via the control panel, or the battery icon on the taskbar, right click, adjust power properties), then when it says "power schemes" change it from power4gear to something else. This will allow you to test power4gear, and not have to worry about uninstalling and reinstalling it.

Thread closed. Please do not create more than 1 thread to ask for help on the same problem. Posting this question in several manufacturer forums will not help you since each manufacturer is different and has different software to control power options and wifi.
