Hi
I just recently bought a Retrak Universal AC adapter to replace the stock asus ac adapter when I go to school.

The power rating of this AC adapter is 65W. The stock one from Asus is 90W. Is it dangerous to use the 65W adapter on my G1S?

It will just charge slower.

It depends on how much the notebook is consuming. If it goes above 65 watts, then the Ac adapter is going to have some trouble, and it will get quite hot. See if you can return the 65 watt adapter, and get a 90 watt one, just to be on the safe side.

But when I am plugged in at school, not on the battery, I directly plug my laptop in the wall. Could an underpowered power supply cause damage to the notebook if it reach it maximum output power ?

The thing is that the manufacturer doesn't have a 90W power supply version of this universal adapter. I really like the retractable cords with that adapter.

Yea I could run some superpi benchmarks while listening music with the dvd drive to max out the juice.
I already tested the adapter it seems to works fine with the laptop.
But I fear it could simply fry my motherboard or set my desk on fire... -

Well yea I will probably return this adapter just to be on the safe side. I really don't know any other replacement universal power adapter that has retractable cords. I'll google a bit.
