Asus, doesn't give "dates" per se, these are the timelines we currently have:
["No information" indicates that the product does not even have an SKU number yet (an official production ID). These products could even be canceled. Anything with an SKU will be produced and a rough timeline can be given, the roughness of which can be anywhere from +/- a week to +/- a month. (More likely + than -, though.) ]
C90S: Shipped!!!
C91L/S: Q4 2007
F8: Middle or End of August, nothing concrete
C80: No information, coming out after C91.
V1S/V2S/VX2S: Mid to Late August. (Thanks to ExcaliberPC and FREN)
S37S/E: Unknown, not anytime soon (info courtesy of Eddie) [being transfered to VBI]
C90 upgrades: No information
XG Station: No information
Z96S: Never coming out, Okay here we go:
--There was going to be Z96S, but it was cancelled. As a matter of fact the entire Z series is EOL as a Built-On Asus line. The Z series will be entirely VBI now. Thus, the next in the Z series is in an unknown state, as is the entire VBI line.
Hope that helps!

It won't stop them from asking, like with every other questions about notebooks, like specs, resellers, costs, where to buy, etc. Sure there is a search button, but it ain't stopping them from making new threads

Would you mind changing the thread name to something less threatening cori? It came out wrong. Maybe just "ASUS Release Dates" or something?
-
Thanks for the info on the C90S release date. I wasn't aware of that and I am very excited.

aww no info on the c80... may have to settle for the c90 after all.
Actally what the heck is the C91 supposed to use for a chipset... santarosa??
that may work for me. -
Thanks!!!!

.
BTW what the release date of the Asus C90s(couldn't resist) -
AlexOnFyre Needs to get back to work NBR Reviewer
The C91L is a C90 with a mobile processor and integrated graphics (a real budget option, no idea why they are making it)
The C91S still uses Conroe, but only up to the E6700 (if that), and will support no overclocking. -
ViciousXUSMC Master Viking NBR Reviewer
Yeah thats what I hear, im intrested in knowing what moble chipset it uses tho, id think santa rosa.
You lose the powerfull cpu, but you lose the fans and vents on the back.
For some it may be a good tradeoff. (less power, less heat, more battery life)
The cpu will cost alot more tho. A good 300$ more. Wich brings it right up to the 2000$ mark of a prebuilt moble notebook so you lose alot of the reasons to get a c90 instead of a "normal" notebook.
Except the fact its still cheaper and offers you the ablility to fully customize and more easily upgrade.
edit: just saw alex's post so there is no moble version with user selectable gpu... thats piss poor.
Looks like c90 is still the best untill we get c80 info. -
I know information on them is scarce....but will the C91 and C80 be generally the same as the C90...only with mobile processors?
-
ohhhh hey I was just searching nbr and I saw a thread that said that the v2s's and v1s's are coming out in July.
-
AlexOnFyre Needs to get back to work NBR Reviewer
Yea, I have been seeing that, I didn't know that the v2s was included in that as well.
-
ViciousXUSMC Master Viking NBR Reviewer
On the outside the big diffrence will be no more vents/fans for extra cooling.
The c80 from what I have read 17" and supposed to support ddr3 and use the desktop cpus.
Its too early to conclude anything on it tho untill we get some sort of offical annnouncment. -
Changed title.

w2 series?
-
AlexOnFyre Needs to get back to work NBR Reviewer
thanks cori! Isn't the w2 that is out the most updated version?
-
What about S37s??? Damn...Don't make me get the Dell XPS...
-
Good idea...mad props!
-
I know they had a WSXGA+ version of the Asus S96j called the Z96j(i think it also had bluetooth) but is there any info on WSXGA+ "version" of the Asus s96s? Might be called the Z96s.
-
The W2 is sketchy, I've seen speculation of both W2w and W2s, no idea on either in terms of specs, but the W2w was 'announced' when the Fujitsu 300gb 5400rpm SATA HD was deemed to be used with the ASUS 17" notebooks.
The W2s is speculated to have the ATi HD 2600XT, but don't quote me on that!
17" WUXGA as usual, Dual Lamp, HD DVD, pretty much the same as the W2jb - I'd expect the DVI to be replaced by HDMI, an extra eSATA port, and here's hoping they include a Express Card remote. -

update with Z96S and VBI delays
-

z96s is not vbi. s96s is vbi. it is in stock with some. z96s may never be out. if it does come out it may be too late for the model to be any popular.
-
AlexOnFyre Needs to get back to work NBR Reviewer
I didn't say it was, I said it was cancelled forever. The Z series will now be OEM'd by VBI.

Sorry if this seems like a silly question
But I'm in Asia, & they sometimes sell Asus models here that are slightly different than the models in Europe or North America - sometimes its different specs or its named differently (like the A8JEN or A8JRX) or sometimes they offer an OS option (XP or Vista).
I know the Santa Rosa based laptops are due for release sometime July/August (I think? - Anyway I know that new models are coming in a few weeks). Will the processors be labelled differently for laptops with Santa Rosa? I mean like if the specs say core 2 duo, how will I be able to tell if it's Santa Rosa or not?
I'm planning to get a new laptop next month & I just want to get more info. Cuz I've already had 2 retailers try to sell me a couple laptops last week that they claimed were the Santa Rosa platform but were most likely the older core 2 duo (Merom I think?). -

Once Asus releases a notebook what is the general lead time of seeing it in stock in shops (In UK preferably)?
I'm particularly interested in the VX2s but seeing as the VX2's are rare to find anyway as well as being marked "tentative" I probably wont wait and just get something else. -
Is that DDR3 for the V1S? Any idea on battery life?
-
)
So V1S will go with DDR2 and most likely with a 667MHz bus.
As for the battery life, the Santa Rosa has shown a good improvement in this area (IMO the biggest advantage of Santa Rosa is this) -
Sorry I meant DDR3 in the GPU, Not RAM.
