I originally thought I'd solved this, but it appears I haven't.

All Unreal Engine 3 games will run very unsteadily. They will run fine four about 1 second, then there will be a little hiccup.

If I reset my driver settings to defaults using RivaTuner, then restart, it will temporarily fix the problem, but it always comes back.

I've experienced it with the 178.48 drivers, one of the 180 series drivers and currently DOX's 182.46

Anyone have any idea how to permanently fix the issue?

    Try turning off the Touchpad.

Do you mean toggle the touchpad off or turn it off in BIOS?

I use the touchpad, so I like to have it on in the BIOS.

EDIT: At 1st I couldn't disable the touchpad with the button, so I had the drivers installed. While I couldn't disable the touchpad the game was jerky, but after the restarts involved in getting the drivers going the game is smooth for the moment, regardless of the touchpad being on or off (wih disable button, not BIOS)
