    I heard from a little birdie about some new notebooks on the horizon. I don't have any details or photos, maybe some of the more connected people here can find some.

    V3
    Vintage Series
    Pro 21
    Pro 30
    Pro 72

    Who'd you hear this from? Are they reputable?

    If the V3 is even remotely true, I'd imagine it's be some type of portable 13.3" or 12.1" laptop ...

    Probably a smaller sub notebook, 12"-13", though it'd be stepping into W5 territory...

    Currently,

    17" = W2
    15.4" = V1,
    14.1" = V2
    13.3" = W7
    12.1" W5
    11.1" U1

    Hard to see what the V3 will be in terms of their higher end notebooks.

    Also hard to see what business users would do with a 17" desktop replacement.

    :p

    The notebook I'm really thinking of buying is the HP nx9420 or nx9440. They're both 17" business notebooks with x1600 video cards. I would jump on it if I could find one for a lesser price, I just don't think old tech is worth $1800. I would be interested in an Asus 17" if it rocked.

    FREN, yes the source is uber reputable.

    sounds like a reseller or distributor rebranding the upcoming Asus whitebooks..
    its very likely that these "Pro" series are going to be the same upcoming models we've been discussing, i.e c90, Z37, etc.

    There's also the A and S series, being I believe 14.1" and 11.1" respectively.

    I got the info from an Asus-related source, not a rebrander.

    youre talking about santa rosa models. they probably will not start with a number either. You can see most of the models on asus global about 30 days before santarosa actually releases. it is not time yet

    no dude, this stuff is not posed to be released. No roadmaps nothing. Asus dont want it out until 30 days prior to new models. they made the mistake of releasing this info last years to resellers who widely paraphrased it and blabbed it all over 4 whole months prior to release. I guess they learn from their mistakes.

    Santa Rosa's supposed to be launched, what, May 7th I think it was? This is pretty much within 30 days, unless Intel's delaying or ASUS is behind the game.

    Hey cori, you finally showed your rep boxes! :p Anyways...

    I wonder how the V3 will be. I'd think it'd be a 12.1-inch laptop. Or maybe its a business tablet notebook.

    Oops, forgot to turn it off. I was browsing around my Control Panel, clicking things. My left side for this forum is small, so I barely notice anything but the name and post itself :p

    majority of santa rosa will not be released for a few monhts. you may start to see bottom of the foodchain models in a month. The stuff people are waiting for will not be here till june/july
