Do you know when the S62j will arrive?
Danny (CanadaSys) will you be getting it too? Any more information on it?
Thanks, need a laptop sooo soon! -

Are the VBI models going to Canada? I don't know, I guess I can't see why they wouldn't... but Ed is correct, it's supposed to be here first, but both are supposed to be here before the end of the month... we all know how that'll turn out. There's far too much that Asus is expecting between the 15th and 25th for it all to arrive at the same time - and for them to sort everything and get them ready to go out... but we'll see.

Looks like the vbi models specs are incorrect. Comes with bluetooth is the keyword. I will investigate

Might consider this laptop should the barebones for A8JM is higher than my budget.
Looks almost like the A8JM minus the 512mb 7600 -

The specs from CanadaSys actually has some decent gpu's in them. I'm definitely getting a VBI. Easier to get parts... -
Speculation seems to indicate the S62J which is a VBI model will probably be out before the Z62J.
Any resellers going to be carrything the Z/S62J?? -

I am sure many will carry them. No reason not too.
-
Am I not seeing them because they havent been released yet??
I really am interested in the S62j/Z62J since I dont htink my wallet can take the price blow of the A8JM anymore. -
Ah well... now I'm thinking of driving to Portland (I'm in Canada) to buy a different laptop (most likely not ASUS) with no taxes...
Anyone have ideas? I'm thinking Toshiba M100... oops, this is an ASUS forum lol :asus: -
Also I think that for myself getting a duo core laptop will have no benefits since none of my programs will make use of the multi-threaded power of the dual core.
I might just score an older asus Z71V, quanta SD-MW1 or dell laptop. I have given up on the A8JM. I have a feeling even the barebones version of it (when it does come) will be too far for my budget. -
If the former, drive a little further into New Hampshire - no sales tax at all. I think ME is 8%.
Only catch is we don't have any Asus shops so it'll be a non-Asus brand anyway. -
Found some more additional info on the Z62j
Z62J Data Sheet
All these come from the huge thread at notebookforums. -

Hmm a lot of resellers have the Z62J supposedly coming in March-End of April.
I still dont see any of them stocking up on it. Hm. no worries. I will be happy to wait a while longer... just cant imagine what someone who ordered a W3J must be going through. -
-
However if its cheaper, i might sway. -
resellers.... please push for the release of the z62j sooner! thanks!! -
That extra resolution can definitely come in handy. However I have to first see the price difference between the S62j and the Z62j to see whether I really can afford the additional resolution.
Supposedly the S62j will be the cheaper model. But we will see. -
anymore updates on the timeframe of release?
-
anyone find a site that has this yet?
-
bumping this thread up for some exposure and possibly some answers.
Where is this laptop in the US?? Has/will it come to the US?? -
MilestonePC.com Company Representative
I THINK it should be available in both US and Canada, but no ETA yet, Asus NA has not placed the order by now.
-
-
I originally wanted a built-on / barebones of the A8JM but seeing as thats not going to happen, I have settled for the Z62j.
Come on ASUS, send this laptop to NA -
