3dMark05 scores are within margin of error of the Omegas. Technically they were 10 points higher. The driver detail tab indicates they're from 3/8/2006.

I, personally, much prefer official driver releases and also update mine as soon as new ones become available. Unless they're fixing a specific problem you're encountering there's no real NEED to download them.....but they release new drivers for a reason.

Have you checked to see if the drivers are different than what is on the CD?

It is possible that they are not really updated drivers. Intel may have finally just put them up on their website.

Did you download all of them or just the VGA driver?

Though in either case I'll have to bookmark this and wait till I have wireless because the files are too big for dial-up downloading.

Only installed the VGA so far and it's definitely different. They used to have the old CD drivers up with a May date. I'll get to the others after we get back from Coldstone. :)
