    Upgraded U45JC to Win 8.1 need driver for Geoforce 310m

    I upgraded my U45JC notebook to Windows 8.1, and everything works great, but there doesn't seem to be a Win 8 driver for the Geoforce 310m. When I run Windows Update and restart, I'm stuck at a black screen. I can repair Windows, but I've been restored to a point before the updates were installed. I wiped the machine, reinstalled and upgraded, and at some point, System Repair recognized the 310m (I now had more resolution choices than 1024x768, but rebooting results in the same black screen.

    I don't see a driver that works anywhere. Is there one? I've tried to download a driver from Nvidea, but trying to install it, I get a message that I "need to install an Intel driver first."

    You need to install the intel video drivers first so optimus can be installed properly.

    They also go by chipset drivers which you may be able to get from intel. Check their site with your CPU model.
