I dont know if this is a common issue or not, but I upgraded my g72gx cpu to a T9800 and now I cant keep the overclock setting in the bios enabled or use the asus overclock utility in windows which is kind of a bummer since it changes the fsb/mem ratio lower so I can really overclock it. Anyone have any ideas or a fix?

You know im wondering this as well, as i just purchased a T9600, upgrading my ASUS from a P7450, I think the ASUS OC settings are taylored specifically for the CPU it came with so the only real way to OC it may be through SETFSB or similar program :( however im not 100% sure.

Power4Gear Hybrid works on a T9900. I don't think my Laptop has BIOS overclocking.

i am trying to use the asus turbogear to overlclock and it wont let me. I have the latest bios and everytime I enable the turbogear in the bios it restarts and disables itself.

I just put a T9600 in my G60vx and Power4Gear overclocks fine either in Turbo or Extreme mode.

It's an issue with the laptop, I think. I had a G72 for one day. The reason it was only one day was because it would not overclock my T9800. The overclock option would disable itself in the bios, and upon starting the overclock utility within Windows, it would not work. When I would go back into the bios, the overclock option was disabled again.

If you haven't doen so already, you may want to update your bios. The latest bios on Asus's website makes a reference to the release because of this reason: "Update TurboGear rule"

The bios verson you want is version 401.
