The A8Jm's screen isn't bad by any means but it could be much better. I'm considering upgrading to an XBlack/Crystalview/blah screen ( Link to site) via Screentek and got a quote of $100+I ship my notebook or screen to them.
Few questions:
-Warranty goes poof? I'm thinking so, though they do install it in a "Class 5 clean room...blah blah blah"
-Is it worth it? I didn't know there WERE 14" widescreens like that. Are these screens that good? Would they compare favorably to the V6Va screen? And there absolutely MUST NOT be any sparkle, otherwise it'd ruin the point.
Thanks for any input

Yeah I'd say say your warranty is gone. Perhaps the best option would be to sell you notebook and get something more to your liking.

I'll pbly wait on this and see. -
if its a serious hindrance then i think you should, otherwise wait until ur warranty is finished then upgrade the screen

um that site just has a fancy explanation for a regular glossy screen. its like the same screen the asus already uses. its a huge waste of money. go read the crystal bright crystal shine description by asus. that site is just selling glossy screens big whoop. and it would nowwhere near compare to a v6va screen. those are IPS in plane switching. completely different tech. they are just selling a glossy coat your screen has. it will look the same. viewing angles arent going to be improved thats the lcd itself.

you are aware that $100 is for the COATING right?
I mean, I guess they will scrape the glossy coating off of your lcd and put the sony glossy coating on there.
Now, I do believe theirs is better. It might not be, but I think it is. The glossy coating mind you.
But it might not be and its hard to really shop this. If you do do it Id be interested in what you think.
I dont particularly recomend you do it mind you.... it doesnt sound like a good deal.... -
its not the coating that makes sony screens look better its most likely the backlighting. and the lcds themselves.
