I have an Asus VX2S laptop (the Lamborghini one). It currently has an intel T7500 (Merom) 2.2GHz CPU, and I was thinking of upgrading it to a T7800 2.6GHz CPU, and was wondering if this is possible with this laptop? I have observed the following:
* I am able to to gain physical access to the CPU and remove it
* The CPU I am upgrading to is from the exact same range as the one I have now (T7X00 series , Merom).
I'm thinking because the CPU is in the same range I should be OK, but before I bite the bullet, is there anything in need to watch out for? Any major increase in power consumption and heat, or do these remain roughly the same? Has anyone tried this before?
What about other, more powerful, CPU ranges such as the T9X00 series? Or will I be restricted to T7X00 only? Will it require a BIOS upgrade?
Cheers!

No, there is nothing to worry about. Just make sure you properly apply the thermal paste on the new CPU.
