    Hi:
I am recieving my Asus A8Jp in about 2 weeks and I wanna run by a view things before I recieve it so I can start using it ASAP.
I was wondering if I will run into any problems doing the following:

    1. I would like to upgrade the standard 2x512MB RAM DDR667 to 2x1GB CRUCIAL RAM DDR667/5300 (the one on newegg) ---- Will this work? I have been seeing a lot of problems with RAM upgrading on the Asus

------ Now I was wondering how I can go about doing the following... a link will be fine (Thank in advanced :D )

    1. Taking away 1 partition from the total of 3 partitions the notebook comes with.

    2. Getting Maximum performance on the Radeon Mobility x1700 256 Dedicated Ram

    3. Installing BIOS for the notebook.

Thank you in advance for all of your help!!

Looks like it should work. It appears to be standard DDR2-667 SODIMM.

I usually keep up to date on all of the drivers. You don't really need to download the latest BIOS unless you're having issues with the laptop. There's a listing of fixes that each BIOS covers. That being said, I did download the latest BIOS.

You can also get the latest ATI Catalyst Mobility drivers from this URL.
