So apparently this netbook is pretty picky on ram. It seems only a certain kind of Crucial ram works, so I went on their website and let them scan my laptop to see which sticks would be compatible.

    2GB
    DDR3 PC3-10600 • CL=9 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR3-1333 • 1.5V • 256Meg x 64 • • Part #: CT1539081

    2GB
    DDR3 PC3-8500 • CL=7 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR3-1066 • 1.5V • 256Meg x 64 • • Part #: CT1539080

Was going to order the one on the top and hope for the best. But before I do, has anyone else successfully upgraded this particular netbook? Any other insight would be greatly appreciated. Kind of a newbie here :D

Yes sir; I believe a good third of my posts have been answering questions on this netbook, and half of those were just about RAM, and linking to Crucials site recommending those very sticks :p

Its not that only Crucials work, its that the 1015 only likes RAM chips that have 4 NAND Modules on each side (for w/e reason); Crucial just seems to be the best way to get a stick, that is guaranteed to work.

Upgraded to the 2gb on the top there; WIN 7 64bit, Optimus, etc ;)

Thank you so much! You really put my mind at ease :)

Also, I've read somewhere that before installing ram, I should upgrade the BIOS. On the 1015pn support page, it lists 6 versions of a BIOS. I'm not sure which one I currently have installed (the only drivers I've updated are the ION's and my wireless adapter). Should I just go with version 0701 as it seems to be the newest version, or should I ignore the BIOS completely. I'm a little scared something might go wrong :(

yeah, it's not the only computer that does this, most high-end p4 mobos did the same - high density ram issues.

ton247: Download HwInfo32 and it will tell you your BIOS version. I updated mine just to make sure I had no future issues (regarding the BIOs of course); In my opinion ASUS's EZ Flash makes it well... EZ ;) lol

DCx: Didnt know that, thanks for the info :)
