1. If my Asus Eee PC 1002HA supports PC2-5300 DDR2 533Mhz or 667Mhz ram, would it be able to plug and play with PC2-6400 DDR3 800Mhz ram?
2. I tried to put my Dell XPS M1530 2GB ram (DDR2 PC-5300 667Mhz) on the Eee PC and it won't boot up. I pressed the power button, but nothing happens...black screen. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Yea it's 667MHz PC2-5300. You could put faster RAM in it and it would run at 667 MHz, just not DDR3, only DDR2.
For the Dell RAM not working I'm fairly certain you can only put 1GB sticks in. -
I am confused, CPU-Z says Max Bandwidth = PC2-5300 (333Mhz) on my Eee PC. From what I heard, that 333Mhz x 2 is 667Mhz.
On another note, my XPS M1530 says the same thing in CPU-Z. So is it 667Mhz?
RAM is so darn confusing. -

You should be good with two 1GB PC2-5300 sticks.

@ ALLurGroceries, thanks for the help so far. I really appreciate it. This is odd, there's only one slot available. I hope I am not stuck with 1GB ram.
EDIT:

Looks like 2GB is possible, but how? -
Don't know how many slots the 100x EEEs have, but if they have two, one of them may be under the keyboard.
-
There is only 1 slot.
you may just have ram that isn't compatible with the 1000HA.
Buffalo ram (DDR2 667 or 800 works fine) 2GB modules work perfectly fine.
Corsair also works well
you may want to update the BIOS too if it is not up to date. -

(133/2) * 5 = 333mhz. -

So much misinformation in this thread...
The EEE's have 1 slot. It is DDR2 ram (DDR3 ram is not the same, it uses different connections and hardware to run it)
It runs at DDR2 667max. If you place faster ram in there it will be clocked down (eg: DDR2 800mhz will run at 667)
If you put slower ram in there, it will run slower, and I do not recommend it.
If the ram did not work from your other laptop, it was not installed well or it was simply incompatible. Not all ram is the same on the inside (the IC's) also keep in mind when upgrading from 1GB of ram to 2GB of ram the number 1 thing most people forget to do is press F2 to go into your bios to re initiate the hardware and get it to notice 2gb of ram is installed. So enter the bios and save & exit.
If you skip that step you will still see only 1gb of ram in your OS even after you upgraded it to 2gb. -
@ ViciousXUSMC, thanks! You summed it up all in a nutshell.
Thanks everyone. I have upgraded my bios version 205 to the latest version 403. I'll just wait until my Kingston DDR2 PC-5300 667Mhz ram arrive to install it on my Eee PC machine. -

Now can I interested you in my guide on how to hack your bios for a custom bootup screen
I actually just deleted the image I use currently the other day when cleaning up my desktop (learning manual video encoding/decoding and man its a lot of programs) but its Vicious from Cowboy Bebop and my logo says EEE MPC but the P is a font that looks like an "A".
And speaking of new boot post screens I should make a new Avatar soon... -

If you asked me my favorite anime of all time its probably Rurouni Kenshin the series (OAV's get it started but the anime series is what really excels once the story gets developed)
My current watching is One Piece every few weeks when new episodes are out and I am watching Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z both from begining to end to revisit the series that got me into anime.
I never saw dragon ball before and it was actually really good, better than DBZ IMO, DBZ is starting to get boring kinda fast and I just finished the first saga lol.
