I got the Asus Zenbook UX32A .. And on my F1-F12 keys I have various functions like brightness up/down, volume, etc. and I don't like holding down the fn key each time to use these functions. I've seen on the macbooks they are automatically default functions. Even on HP laptops you have that option in the BIOS, but not for ASUS.
Is there any way to achieve this, either through the ASUS software or any other programs? I've heard of the ASUS ATK Hotkey but don't know how to access it.

Someone made a tool called nbkeys that can pick up the interrupts, and launch commands. Search on the forum. But then you have to replace all the on screen display popups, etc. And half of the functions the keys launch are hidden, and Asus are unwilling to document them for us.
But I'm pretty sure I've seen requests for that feature on Asus' laptops since the first asus laptops turned up. Asus apparently spends their time on creating touchpad applications with less functions than the standard elantech driver, removing functions, and forcing bios-settings that kill the battery-life instead.
Because obviously it's much more important to respond to reviewers and noisers who complain about the touch-pad, rather than just making a good product that works in the best possible way on the default settings. But it's nothing new that support thinks the only problems that turn up come from users using the product in the wrong way. And that if we just accepted that constantly overclocking a ram-chip on a laptop is a good idea. Or that forcing a useless acceleration setting on the touchpad, and removing the sensitivity options. Then their computers would be perfect, and they could all go home.
Moral of the story: complain to support, use the "vip" site. Write irrational screeds, and use phrases like "most people", and "the casual user" when talking about yourself. Otherwise, they don't really care. -
Anyone else? bump.

I use Key tweak for launching chrome and volume up and down on my Zenbook. Key tweak has no option for brightness tho.
Use Asus FN Keys without holding down FN
