I got an ASUS N81Vp-d1. I reformatted the machine, installing Ubuntu 9.04 on it. I am now trying to get Vista instaled in Virtual box. When the machine boots up, I get the following message:

"The current system was not an ASUS model.
    Press OK to reboot."

I'm assuming the CD must do some check on the hardware that Virtual Box is not emulating. Does anyone know how to get this to work?

I had an OEM Vista Home Premium disk that I tried, but the product key the laptop came with would not work. I assume because the key that asus had on the laptop was for SP1 and my disk was old enough that it didn't have SP1?

the issue is it is looking for a cert in Bios the VB bios is generic and lacks the cert, so you will have to do a fresh install with a retail key to work.
