So my Motorolla phone (not Razr - I got it before it came out :p), can connect to the laptop via Bluetooth. In fact I tried it out and it worked perfectly... as a dial-up modem. I don't want a modem. All I want to do is connect it as a hard-drive of sorts, so I can pull pictures that I have taken off the phone and ont the laptop, and vice versa (to upload wallpapers onto phone). Or to sync contacts, and what not.

Anyone know how to do it?

The phone is a Motorola V330 by the way.

Easily done..... I bound my RAZR to my old W3v everyday for a year... The new W3j has BT2.0 w/ EDR, and your phone is a bit older, but still shouldn't be a problem.

Make sure the bt stack is set up on your computer and go into the bluetooth manager and connect as a paired network device instead of a modem..... your phone really has to be set up to allow it though.

Depending on who your phone is through, you may not be able to though. I know Verizon and Sprint were notorious to limiting bluetooth to ONLY modems.... they wouldn't even let you use headsets and now a lot are still limited to just modems and headsets...... so you have to make sure the phone's rom is set to allow bt to be fully open.

Well I downloaded Bitpim and it couldn't dectect my phone (bluetooth was on, on both phone and laptop).

And Justin, it can only set up as a Dial-up networking gateway for some reason. I can't seem to change it..

You need to set your phone to pair...... if the computer can't see your phone, your phone isn't ready.

Yes bluetooth stack is on, and it's paired onto a com port. But bitpim still can't do it. Ah well. I'll be getting a new phone soon anyway.

Thanks for the help. I can always use it with the new phone.
